Why does this thread continue? Between this and the Sanchez thread the jealously of average looking white women is palpable.
Amal Clooney is white.
I doubt she identifies as white.
I have no idea how she identifies, but Lebanese people seem generally to consider themselves white.
Yes . If the name George Clooney was on a reservation for a Beirut restaurant or hotel suite, it would’ve been assumed it’s a Lebanese man. George is a common name among Christians , and Cloony sounds Lebanese . Her name however is Amal Alamuddin which is definitely not an Anglo name . Despite being raised a Brit, her parents gave her a super old fashioned and very Arabic first name Amal. Not even an Arabic name that’s global like Leila or Aliya or Aida or Sarah or Norah. But Amal.. Amal is a grandmother name. It means nope but it’s usually not a name someone with a whitewashed family would name their kid . I doubt Amal was raised to identify as white for this reason. Given the last name, an Anglo conscious family would’ve named a more global first name
People can be "raised to identify" as sofa cushions (and that makes about as much sense as anything else these days) but someone of mixed Lebanese and especially Druze heritage is going to be very obviously white. The Levant is white. "Whiteness" is misidentified with Europe alone.
Someone raised white doesn’t have the name Amal Alamuddin. There’s no evidence she identifies as white. She probably thinks she’s in an interracial relationship with George. The only reason people want the Levant to be white is so Jesus can be white
No it is because we have eyes. They are manifestly white by every observable measure of physical characteristics. The lines you draw have no basis in observable reality.
Amal Clooney doesn’t look white . She is a brown person . She can pass as Mexican or Asian or Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander -anything but white . How is a Middle Eastern white per US census but Latinos and Asians are non white ? The Levant borders Asia and Africa you know. If you go to any country in the Levant (Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Palestine), they don’t look white . Turks don’t look white either
This is baffling to me, too. I agree that she doesn’t look white. Middle Eastern people don’t look white to me, either.
Whoever said "Turks don't look white" has met very few turkish people!! This is ridiculous. Everyone in the whole area bordering the Mediterranean on any side looks pretty similar. You nuts are denying reality to salvage your twisted paradigm. |

She's beautiful or more so than many. Style and smarts take a person further as well - physical looks is only one thing. Allure, charisma, charm - personality goes a long way so it's impossible to really know if she's beautiful unless you knew her and spent time with her.
But from pictures I think she has that - if you're just looking at features that's your right to disagree if she's attractive but I don't look at people like that and neither do many who work with people in general. |

There are people in the Middle East including Lebanon and Turkey who look white and some others who look brown or of darker complexion. I am from Turkey and i look white, my two closest friends who are also Turks look brown.

| Pretty enough only to attract men twenty years her senior. Says a lot. |
| I think it’s funny how we’ve gone all nonbinary/cis/rmrrans with gender, but with race it’s still all black and white. So many kids are mixed race. Mine are, and they have a skin tone similar to Amal. One’s darker like me. What race are they? What color do you think they are? White? Brown? Wheatish? Latte? We need to get beyond these labels. They’re nonsensical. |
| No. Anal Clowney is a fugster. |
| He isn’t with her for looks. |
| I think she has an interesting face, not in a bad way |
Big Semitic nose. |
| She’s not masculine at all, and if a woman is who cares. She’s grossly skinny. |
| Sigh. It does not matter if she's pretty. It really doesn't. |
| She’s extremely homely |
| I think she’s very homely. And evil |

This whole conversation about looking white is laughable. The Census definition says middle eastern are white.
