Doesn't surprise me -- I sold a house in Falls Church earlier this year and it went for 120k over asking (and we had an offer higher than that that we didn't take). Desirable locations are going way over list. Does this mean realtors are underpricing? Maybe. It's a true seller's market in the right spots, though, and I think even with what is arguably the "right" list price, stuff can still bid way up. |
Stuff like this makes me want to see if we could actually sell our starter home for a good price. We way overpaid a couple of years ago and it’s got some serious issues… but then I see stuff like this and I’m like maybe we’re overthinking it?? |
PP here. FWIW, the home we sold was what you might think of as a "starter home." The starter home thing was actually helpful for us -- it was a nice enough house, in a highly desirable location, at what was, in context for the school pyramid, a very affordable price. More affordable than the McMansions in the area. If you want to sell, it wouldn't hurt to talk to a good agent. |
When they stage the house with cool grays it makes those floors turn nuclear orange. Really poor color choice for the staging. |
Thanks!! |
I think realtors are underpricing as well. One just went $238K over in Dominion Hills for a 1600 square feet 3/2 house. That’s crazy for Dominion Hills. |
