Nobody's mad you want drugs. Sane people are pointing out that these drugs aren't candy, and you shouldn't expect to get them just because you want them, Veruca. Then, the veruca contingent jumped on those because because they want their drugs and they want them now!

Shopping around for someone who will give you the drugs you want, but don't need, is drug-seeking behavior. You're free to ignore all the sense some people tried to talk to you and go do it anyway, and you will find some half-assing whitecoat who will write you a prescription (probably just to shut you up). They do that with opiates the same as the do with antibiotics for colds.

The best approach to healing is to rest and let your body recover without adding additional complications (nausea, constipation, possible withdrawal symptoms), and your doctor seems to understand that perfectly well. Why you don't trust their medical expertise is probably worth looking into.

Best of luck, OP.

And then there's the drug addict who thinks everyone is an addict too! Or they will be if they have that "candy".

And here's our resident antagonist, dropping by to shit on anons without making any sort of useful contribution to the thread.

DP. She’s right.

Get a grip on your addiction.

advil dual is a combination of ibuprofen and acetominophen. supposedly a good combination, it is available OTC.
walmart has this in their house brand, too.

This is probably okay for single-use, but if you're trying to treat round-the-clock pain, it's better to stagger single-med ibuprofen and acetaminophen because of how often you can take each safely. Unless you can hold to 6 hours for both.

Most surgeons will only give opioids for a short time. Like 3-7 days. I had my bones cut and shaved and my surgeon gave me a week of oxy which helped a lot. I only needed it for five days. I can't imagine only having tylonel. After surgery I was in tears from the pain.

What evidence do you have that OP, a cancer patient, does not need drugs for pain? Is your evidence the fact that one surgeon she met with said they don't give drugs, per policy? How does that say anything about OP's need?

Are you the maternity ward nurse that has been telling this to all the c-section moms?

Omg yes. It’s Tylenol with codeine or it used to be, but still. It’s surgery, cutting through layers of muscle and fat. I appreciate they don’t want people to get hooked on Oxy or whatever but this attitude is cruel. My hospital mate was literally sobbing in pain for two days and the chirpy nurses were like ‘sorry, you’re not due for another Tylenol for 2 hours!!’
