This Joe Rogan thing is the perfect new angle for me to gatekeep and grift. I’ll be live steaming a podcast a couple days a week and figure I can make upwards of $50 million a year doing it.

The hopeless right wing proles he secretly despises will eat it up.

Sadly, he’s not wrong

I have my doubts. There's a limit to the number of long form podcasts people can listen to in a day. Unlike Rogan (whom I really dislike) and others like him, I seriously doubt gen X Republican men think Carlson is the kind of person they'd want to have a beer with. He's a fake intellectual that talks to boomers and validates their worst fear. While I'm not a fan of Rogan, I've heard his podcast. He's constantly saying his a big dumb dude that doesn't know anything. He's obviously not dumb but he's not afraid of self deprecation. The idea that Carlson could ever come off as this approachable to a general audience is laughable. I doubt he'd ever call himself dumb in front of 20 million people.

No, they fired him b/c his got over his skiis and extremely offensive comments about senior FNC execs will soon come to light + a former producer from his show is suing them for sexual harassment and that will bring yet another round of awful press coverage.

Rupert Murdoch was asserting his dominance over Tucky who thought he was invincible. Stars always over estimate their power. Yeh, he’s getting millions of Twitter streams but it’s a different audience than Fox and who knows how many of those views are real vs. bots. He will continue to have some influence but it’s been hugely diminished, and he knows it. Eat sh!t little Tucky.

He’s been working from a studio in FL for years. I believe it’s in his home. He’s rich.

Do you think that’s how communication works for conservatives? Long form podcasts only?

He really had to beat around the bush to avoid mentioning climate change. What a putz.

Tucker was a product of Fox. Fox is seen as republicans party/conservatives establishment platform. People watch it to get the official republicans/conservatives orthodoxy under the guise of a news organization. If tucker leaves Fox he is just another guy yelling for the kid to get off his lawn. There are a boatload of them and no one cares/follows.

bill o'reilly before his firing had more viewers vs what tucker had on Fox.

He has an $8M or $9M parcel double parcel home/studio complex on the Gulf in Florida according to the Daily Mail photo op. It sounds and seems like this entire thing is Murdoch ruse. If Murdochs wanted him to be a nobody, all News Corp outlets would just ignore him. Instead they set up a photo op with him riding a golf cart? Now Tucker gets to look like some anti establishment martyr as he pivots to digital? He’s cut off and just an old dopey rich guy in his house but his video last night is botted to 20M views? Very sus.

You’re right, his days as a king maker are over. But he can make big bucks catering to a smaller echo chamber. All these right wing apparatus losers just milk their audiences. Then they all “signal boost” each other’s content to make it seem like their audiences are multiple times bigger than they really are.

Tucker is independently wealthy. He wants to be the king maker. He isn’t anymore. Too bad, so sad.

Beefy servers for sure. Maybe there was bloat there. You know if it was a govt operation, it would be down for the next three months.

Heck yeah! Everything at Twitter is fine, just fine!
