You need not be naive. Ever hear the phrase "dress for the job you want not the job you have"? I didn't say she didn't look cute. I said she is overdressed and she dresses like a 1940s housewife in almost every outfit. I love classic 1940s silhouettes but it's more than that the frequency in which she is using those specific types of silhouettes. She harkens back to the time period and for those who were raised in that time period and/or their moms dressed that way and they see it as a time when America was Great then yes it is subliminal signaling. It's like Hillary with the power suits. Wait until she shows up in stole and fur muff.... |
Don't cry for me, Tallahassee! |
She looks like she's going to suck you into an MLM cult and definitely kill your dog when you dont sell enough product. |
That’s a fair point |
This. Lord the two of them are so cold. |
| Both the NY Post & Times have had recent articles highlighting her odd princessy style and clothing choices. DCUM didn’t make this up. |
But we were there first! |
I think the more likely cross section are Casey DeSantis stans who vehemently hate Meghan Markle. I personally know three women who fit that profile. |
Looks like a drag queen did her makeup. Soooo much makeup!! |
Sometimes a dress is just a dress, but do continue the absurd over-analyzing of CD's fashion choices. |
DP. Let's see how good you look when pregnant. You're just outing yourself as the true ahole you are. |
| She looks like all the other MAGA women to me. I don’t think there’s anything new here. |
Ron’s got a type. |
I agree with the portion I bolded. I can’t believe anyone doesn’t understand that for women, especially, clothing can be used to send a message, and her message is, “women belong in the kitchen and the bedroom, end of list.” |
When it comes to significant political power, a dress is never just a dress. Look at Hillary Clinton wearing pantsuits and the statement that makes. Look at Michelle Obama choosing very specific designers and the statement that makes. And Kate Middleton, Grace Kelly, Queen Elizabeth I, etc. I cannot think of one woman--in fact one person--in proximity to serious political power who didn't use their clothing choices to make a statement. |
