I find myself in a position that I need a brokerage account. (for inherited stock)
I don't plan to do frequent trades or even change anything, just leave it as for the most part. I could just leave it in the current account, which is a full service brokerage, but I don't really think I need full service. Do you have a brokerage that you could recommend? |
| Vanguard. I get free trades. No pressure to buy or sell anything. |

Thanks for the replies!
I've considered the possibility of selling some of the stocks and putting them in a Vanguard index fund or ETF, so a Vanguard account would definitely be convenient. |
| You are correct if you're assuming you need to open an account somewhere to sell inherited stocks. We did the same, went with Morgan Stanley. |

OP here,
Do you think it is safe to use online brokerages? |

I think Schwab is good if you plan to trade or hold stocks (and some ETFs). If you are just planning to sell and put it in Vanguard fund, then I would probably just call Vanguard.
Vanguard is low cost which generally is really great, but I have to say Schwab put more money/emphasis on service. |
