Is Erin dated?

I love the name Erin but more than one friend has said it reminds them of the 80s. Thoughts?

A little, but when you're kid comes of age it will be "vintage." If you like it, go for it.

i love it.

Who cares? If you love the name, go for it. One of my closest friends is an Erin so I have only good associations. Besides, it's not like Isabel is ever-so-modern, yet it's hugely popular. And as a child of the 80's, all I can say is that you should tell your friends that the 80's rocked.

Yes, but not nearly so much as some of the other names I've seen mentioned here recently.

I love it. It was in my top two and I went with my other choice but if I have another girl, she'll be an Erin.

I think of it as classic Irish rather than linked to any particular era. It may have been popular in the 80s, but not to the point of saturation.

LOVE Erin. Interestingly, I have a new friend named Erinn (42 years old) and I never knew it could be spelled this way too.

As an Erin, I say go for it. Great name!

I love it. I think it would be perfect for a baby today.

I know a 5 year old with that name, I like it.

I like it a lot. It wasn't SO popular during the 70s and 80s that one would automatically associate it with that era. Use it if you love it!
