Hubby is turning 40 in Jan 2014 and I'd love to treat him to a few days where he and I can relax. We are not big party-type people, instead would rather hike on a quiet trail.
That being said, can you please recommend one or two luxury all-inclusive resorts? Thanks!! |
| Not super lux but we love the sandals grand in St Lucia. The other 2 sandals resorts on the island are party central but the grand was lovely. |

Pp again:
If you don't have a budget Peter Island would be my #1 choice hands down. It's AMAZING but $$$$ |

Couples in Negril, Jamaica.
Affordable, luxurious, and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. The beach, 7 mile beach is one of the best beaches in the world. You can fly direct, take a prop plane or a 1.5-2 hour car ride from Montego Bay airport. I personally love the car ride, driving through all the towns and seeing how the Jamaicans live. If you want other suggestions for Jamaica, let me know. I go there every year and consider it my home away from home. |
| I loved galley bay in Antigua. |
| Anse Chastenet or Ladera in St Lucia. |
| Ew. |
Honeymooned at Anse Chastenet (sp). Did not feel luxurious to us. Pleasant enough. Beautiful setting. No one at your beck and call. Lot's of step climbing. Would not return. |

Why all inclusive? Do you want luxurious in terms of spas and service, or private. Eaches and peace? Do you want to stay on property 24/7 or do you want to go off and tour, do activities, shop, dine? What's your real budget?

| Curtain Bluff in Antigua. It is very laid back, yet elegant and offers plenty of activities in the all inclusive price such as tennis, snorkeling trips, deep sea fishing, scuba, water skiing, as well as yoga and pilates classes. |
I thought 7 mile beach was in Grand Cayman? |
All inclusive seems to work well because we hate worrying about how much extra we will have to spend once on the vacation for food. I just like not having to worry about it. I should add that we've stayed at Sandals Antigua (was a decent resort) and at sandals ocho rios (I liked the feel of Jamaica my hubby hated it and he kept saying the next time we go, he wants something more upscale than sandals. We are looking to relax - maybe snorkel, hike. We like quiet. We love good food. We don't drink much (maybe a glass of wine with dinner when we go out for a nice dinner). We'd like to be pampered in terms of all around service. We don't need a spa. Our budget is probably $2,500-$5,000. I'd like to stay 4-5 nights. |
Grand Cayman also has a 7 mile beach which is beautiful but they got hit pretty hard from a hurricane a few years ago and all the resorts aren't all in working condition. I was just in the Caymans 2 months ago and the damage is still obvious. 7 mile beach in Negril is pure paradise. My favorite beach and I've been all over the Caribbean. |
We are going there in Aug (Couples Swept Away). I'm excited for the all you can eat fro yo Is there anything you wished you had known your first time? Like make reservations the minute to you arrive b/c the activities book up fast?
