Bringing existing natural gas line to kitchen

Anonymous
Has anyone done this? How much does it cost? House has gas heating.

I did something similar (to pass inspection they had to move the existing gas line over one joist). I believe it cost about $1,500 but I am not sure how much of that was for the kitchen line and the moving of the existing line. My stove sits directly above my gas line so all they had to do was extend the main line up about 3'. It was the most expensive individual thing I did in the kitchen renovation.

A lot will depend on where your existing line runs in relation to your kitchen./stove

Call your plumber and get a quote, but as PP said, a lot will depend on how far you need to extend the line.

My plumber quoted us $750 but I agree that it's going to be completely dependent on your particular situation

I had it added to my kitchen and cost will vary depending upon your situation and where the existing gas lines are located and desired location for stove. Expect to have a drywall contractor come in thereafter to patch as needed. Consult a plumber for a quote.
