Daylight Savings

Anonymous
Hi,

Our little guy who is 2 is normally a very good sleeper but we are
struggling with the new time change. For the last 3 mornings he has
woken up at 5:30 am and is basically out of bed by 6:15 which makes
getting ready in the morning tough plus it makes him really tired.

Keep in mind that I am usually up at 5:45 and ready to go by about 6:30
and then we get him up between 6:45-7am

We have been trying to put him to bed closer to 7:30 where before the
time change he was going to bed closer to 8pm.

Does any one have any hints on how to get him back to his regular
sleeping pattern where he does not get up until 6:45 or so?

Thanks we did not have this situation when he was a baby or last year
when he would have been about 14 months old.

Just keep to the "normal" schedule, and they adjust. If you put them to bed at 8pm before, put your kid to be at the "new 8pm." My son is getting up early also, but I think in a few days he will adjust (wishful thinking?)

Ok, that is what I thought. I will just keep working on the regular schedule of at 7:30 to start getting ready for bath or bedtime at 7:30 and then have him in PJs, 2 books read and in bed by the new 8pm at the latest.

Thanks!

Same thing happening at our house with my 2 year old DD. Today, she slept a bit later (6:30 instead of 6am) so maybe keeping to our normal bed routine is working!

does anyone else hate daylight savings time? I hate that I have to walk in the dark after work.
