Would you leave?

Option a:
$190K comp
WFH 3 to 4 days a week
Unlimited vacation / sick (take what you need)
Next promotion in 12 to 18 mo - will bump me to $220 or so; "entry executive level" (better benefits, deferred comp, admin assistant, etc)
401K is 8% match (absurd I know)
Big company + household name

Option b:
Promotion on paper relative to current role
$230K total comp
No WFH, approx 1 hr each way commute
4 weeks vacation/sick
Not sure about 401K yet buy doubt its as rich
Profitable but unknown company

On the one hand, leaping from 190 to 230 is nice and te chance to join the "executive" ranks I hard to pass up. On the other hand, it doesn't seem worth giving up flexibility, killer 401K, etc when I'm already likely to get there in the next 18 mo.

WWYD? Take the money? Stay put? (financially, we could obviously use more - who can't - but I don't NEED it)

It genuinely isn't, although I can appreciate why it might seem that way. I'm in business analytics. BA+MBA.

No, I would not leave if I had kids.

I have a similar gig at less $ (only $160K) and I won't leave. My kids are in elementary and middle school so the flexibility is worth an extensive amount of $ to me. (Plus I have a pension in addition to a 401K.)

The masses have spoken. Clearly I'm a moron for even thinking about it. I pretty much felt like that was the case, but you all validated it for me.

You're not a moron. You're a lucky person who was presented with two really good options and chose the one that works best for your family. It's flattering and you should feel great about yourself and your decision.
