My son went there for two years. I liked the principal and thought he was doing a good job. He did seem to run a tight ship yet I thought that was a good thing. I spoke with him many times given our iep and issues my son was having (specific to my son). He was very responsive and I found him to be professional and gave some good advice. I've read what's been in the news and am speaking now about our experience. I don't know what to believe re the news however it definitely did not feel like the war zone it may be painted to be.
I wasn't involved with the PTA yet it did seem there was an active PTA and some degree of community. Also, I once raised an issue of kids that formed an exclusive group with members, rules, etc and it was immediately addressed and disbanded as soon as the administration was notified.
