Greencastle Elementary- The Good, Bad, & Frustrating

Anonymous
I searched the thread here and could not find any recent information on experiences with Greencastle Elementary. Our family is considering purchasing a townhome in Burtsonsville and Greencastle Elementary is the school assigned to the area. We would appreciate some feedback on the school. What is good about the school? How is the principal? What are the teachers like? What is frustrating about the school? What is concerning? Does anyone have any experience with the speech pathologist at the school?

Thanks a lot for you feedback.

It's right up against the PG County border. That would give me pause.

PP at 18:37, here are the questions that the OP asked:

Did you answer any of those questions -- besides, possibly, the question about "what is concerning"? And I'm pretty sure that the OP already knows about the geographical location of the school.

How the hell do you know? Are you the appointed mind reader for this site? For all you know they are coming from Texas.

Not PP, but one would assume that since OP specifically mentioned looking at purchasing a townhome in Burtsonville, they've seen a map. Even if they are from Texas.

Actually, the area of PG county that adjoins Burtonsville is served by Bond Mill Elementary, which is without question one of the best elementary schools in the county - if not the best - and is head and shoulders above Greencastle.

63% FARMs which means 1) it will receive more resources but 2) achievement data will be low in most cases b/c of the obstacles facing many students.

Greencastle is in the Northeast Consortium and is a Paint Branch feeder.

It's the PG part closer to Howard. That's why.

^^ meant no, it's not closer to Howard County. Should have been more specific. (Bond Mill is a great school.)
