I'm an attorney and thinking of switching to estate planning law. If you do estate planning, I'd love to know how difficult you find dealing with mostly elderly clients. I am also concerned about private individuals being more reluctant to pay a reasonable fee compared to business clients. Another challenge that I anticipate is that estate planning does not generate a constant stream of work for the same client, so you have to have a very wide client base of individuals.
A few more questions: - How important is a location of the office next to areas with a heavy concentration of elderly people? - Do you find the work that constantly involves the topic of death depressing? I'd appreciate any insight about any other challenges and/or rewards that you have experienced. Thanks! |
