Local pharmacy sources for meds?

Anonymous
Long story short, my order from an online-pharmacy (Freedom) didn't go smoothly, so I'm contemplating just getting my injectables locally the next cycle. I'd been told that Freedom has the best prices, but I haven't had time to shop around. Does anyone have any recs for good pharmacies in NWDC that have injectables in stock? Has anyone price compared the on-line prices? (I'm paying out of pocket) Or do I just suck it up and go through Freedom again, hoping that I have a better experience?

My docs office uses Prosperity Specialty Pharmacy in VA. www.prosperitypharmacy.com and they are GREAT. Everything I have needed (injectables) has been in stock and literally ready minutes after my doctor faxes over the order. They're helpful and nice over there as well. My insurance has covered things so far, so I'm not sure about their pricing.

Sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience with Freedom. They've been really good with me so far (going on 6 cycles now...) but I know that at a time like this, good customer service is really important! I also used Schraft's Pharmacy which is online, but if you join their preferred club (or some other similar name) you get free overnight shipping and lower prices. It costs like $10-$25 to join for the year and that gives you the shipping and the pricing for the whole year. If you're paying out of pocket it makes sense! I just did my Shady Grove IVF orientation and they mentioned a pharmacy in Fairfax but I don't recall the name off the top of my head. They also said they have their own pharmacy in Rockville.
If you are just looking for clomid, I'd try one of the bigger chain pharmacies in a box store (Walmart or Target, etc.) rather than CVS because I found a big difference in cost.
Your RE's office might have some other suggestions for you as well. Good luck!

16:48 poster here. I did:
1 cancelled cycle on injectables (produced too many eggs)
1 injectable cycle with coitus (ie, have sex)
3 injectable cycles with IUI

now on first IVF. It's been a long road...
