| I'm not from pg county... But I am looking to possibly move to the area ... Is that true that pitbulls are banned from the area? |
| yup. |

I live in PG. And supposedly they are banned, but at the PG County shelter there are a lot of "mixed breed" dogs that look suspiciously like pit bulls. And they adopt those dogs out to PG residents.
I've never had pit bulls or pit mixes, so I don't know if the rule is enforced proactively or it is only an issue if the dog in question becomes a problem to neighbors or others. |

In 2003 I moved to PG with my pit/mix and only skated by because his license and shot records classified him as a mutt. One vet in PG started to refuse service because of the obvious pit look but changed his mind due to the mut records. I wouldn't take him back to PG as neighbors and curious cops just made it a stupid situation. Back to DC in 2007.
People do it but if you love your dog it's not worth the trouble. |
