| Anyone know how many hours the kids are at school tomorrow? It's different from a Monday release right? |
| Yes. Dismissal is approximately 2hours after the official start time. It's when the buses can get back to school. |
| Our elem school starts at 9:15. Tomorrow's dismissal will be about 11:30 or 11:40. Exact times depend, like a PP said, on when the buses can get back to the school. |
| Are you sure? My son seemed to think it was 3 hours and another parent told me 3 hours 15 minutes. I assumed it would posted at the school website or something. I must have missed a handout, though I went through everything I have. |
20:28 here. We had a robo call from my kids' school this evening letting us know about tomorrow's dismissal plans |
| I'm an FCPS assistant principal. Our school starts at 8:45am. Tomorrow's dismissal will be around 11:00am. |
Thank you. This is helpful. |
| I am new to FCPS this year, but it seems to make little sense to have school for 2.5 hours. What is the point? |
| How were other people told about the time? Robo calls? Email? I just tried to get into blackboard, but it doesn't recognize me anymore. Nobody used it so I stopped visiting. |
--Signs posted on the doors for past week --In school newsletter and calendar sent out at the end of May --Keep in Touch message sent out this evening |
The point is to get it to count as a day of school for the state, so we are in for 180 days. Nothing more, just time to sign year books.... |
Your school is organized. I was just in the building a few days ago and there was nothing posted. It's not in the newsletter. Didn't get any messages. I asked several teachers/staff and answers varied by 15-30 minutes. I'll call tomorrow. |
And the dismissal is just before lunch, so the meal does not have to be served. Once you start lunch, you've got to finish the entire rotation of classes. |
This is my 20th year teaching for FCPS. I've wondered the same thing for all of those years. |

21:25 here.
We start at 8:20 and plan on releasing around 10:50. |
