USAJobs occupational questionnaires

Does anybody read these essay questions or are they just used by some computer somewhere to scan for keywords? I had to complete a long one for my current job, and nobody ever mentioned anything about it during the interview process at all. Now I'm applying for another job at the same agency, and the questionnaire is ridiculous. I'm doing my best to answer the questions, but I'm hoping that no real person ever actually looks at it.
