We used Maria Colachao twice.

We used Maria for our older son too - even though EAA called to say some people didn't work w. her b/c she wasn't a native english speaker / had an accent that some parents were concerned about, etc - we loved her - but now trying to decide whether to use her for our daughter. Our son has a great ear & is very verbal so we weren't concerned about him understanding her / her understanding exactly what he was saying, but with our younger daughter I do worry a bit about her accent & being a non-native english speaker - our daughter doesn't speak very cleary at all, etc. did anyone else have these concerns or am i worried for nothing?
thanks. |

Applications are due in two months. You should make an appointment with someone very soon. Appointment times do fill up quickly, especially the coveted morning spots.

Maria Zimmitti. Used her the second time around (one year later) after a not great experience at one of the large testing places mentioned above.
Has anyone used Ana Daroowalla at EAA?
Just got an appt with Nicole Sampson at Maria Zimmitti & Assoc. Anyone have any experience with her?
My child turns 5 in late January. Does it make a diference when I schedule the test? Thanks for your help!
No, your child will take the longer WPPSI since he is past 3 11. I would schedule for mid-Jan so he is normed with the late 4s. If you test right after his birthday, he will be normed with the early 5s. I think the range is either 3 months or 4 months.
This was addressed on another thread. Try searching in this forum. Briefly, the consensus seemed to be that the best date would be shortly before a cutoff point, e.g., just before turning 5. However, given approaching deadlines and the possibility that you may need to reschedule if your child is sick, etc., I'd ignore all that at this point and get an appointment as soon as possible.
