search this thread?

This forum doesn't seem to have a "search this thread" option, unless I missed it (which I might have). Is that technically feasible (I went away for a few days and a thread I was reading exploded, so I wanted to find where I stopped reading)

The entire search system on this site is it's weak point. Improving it is on my list of things to do. I'll see about the possibility of a "search this thread" function.

Speaking of searching, is there any way to organize the search the site results? I'll search for key words and get stuff that is older before more recent (not sure what is used to organize the resutls) but can't figure out how to sort or just return results for a certain time period. Am I missing something?

******hate****** the search non-functionality on DCUM, so frustrating because there's some really good and helpful topics from the past that I'd like to locate. Excited that this is something you'll be helping to improve, wish I had some IT skills to help (instead of just whining about it here).

When you enter search, scroll down and where it says "Relevance" click the down arrow [v] and select "Message Date". If you click "Ascending" it will give you oldest first and sort in chronological order by posting date. If you select "Descending" it will give you newest first and sort in reverse chronological order. The search functions and sorting functions are still weak, but this give some help in finding some articles/threads.

Great thanks. I always saw the "Relevance" and thought to myself, "No, not really that relevant."

Another person who didn't know about what "Relevance" could really do for you in search results.

It would be great if the Search option allowed users to search for message between X and Y dates.
