Looking for shoes to wear with this dress. I hate really uncomfortable shoes, and I'd like to spend less than $200.

Did you buy the dress already? There is something very off about the hemline in the pictures--there are threads hanging in the back view, and it's not pressed at all right on the hem at the front. I hope you didn't pay for something at that price point that had construction issues like that!
I know that's not what you asked, but I had to point it out and hopefully I save you some time and $$$ on the dress if you don't have it. Or better, you do have it, and the issues are only in the photo. |
| I did buy the dress, on sale at Neiman Marcus for about $300. The hem is perfect on the one I bought, and the style is actually very slightly different but I can't find a photo of the exact one I bought. I also thought the hem seemed puffy in the photo, and noticed the thread as well. |

I don't think these specifically (won't quite match and WAY out of the pricerange you mentioned), but maybe something similar...summery/sandal, but more substantial than the regular "strappy sandal"

| No idea-- I'm bad with shoes-- just wanted to say that's a gorgeous dress! |
+1 And I'm cracking up over the thread. How could they leave that in the photo??? |
| Love that dress. You need a cute shoe because it is going to stand out. Colored heels and metallics will work. |
|
thanks PP - can you possibly suggest a specific colored heel or metallic? i looked a bunch of metallic styles at blooming-dales and lord and taylor yesterday - and they just seemed close to tacky, but maybe I need to move out of my comfort zone.
also, do you think this is too close to white for a wedding? thanks! |

Don't do nude shoes with this dress, too neutral. I agree that colored or metallic would work best. I'm leaning towards shades of red, but I'm sure there are other nice colors that would work as well.

| Very cute dress! Maybe a heel that adds a pop of color? |
Not PP, but a new poster who opened up the link and thought first, "I hope she's not wearing that to a wedding." I wasn't going to mention it, but you asked. |
I thought this

| OP here. Argh. I have shopped forever to find a dress I like for this wedding (which is in less than 2 weeks, not sure how i will find the time to find another). The saleslady at Neiman Marcus swore up and down that this was wedding appropriate - as it has metallic threads in the tweed and sort of looks more ivory/gold than white. Another customer in the dressing room also said it was not inappropriate. But now I am thrown. I don't want to piss anyone off or come off as rude. |
