| Where can I find these? Are they labeled as such? |
| I've read that Eden is the only company that uses BPA-free can linings. You can probably verify on their website. |
Eden is the only brand I can find at whole foods that is bpa free but I can't bear shelling out $3 / can! Buy dried beans and soak, OP. |
| Whole foods sells beans in a box and I am only aware of Eden's BPA free beans. |
| Thank you! I know I should just cook dried beans but I haven't gotten into that habit. I have a pressure cooker so it should be easy. Thanks much for the link. Eden is a bit pricey but Trader Joes I can handle! |

Thank you!!

Eden beans are cheaper by the case on Amazon. I've only ever bought the refried, but sadly, they taste terrible. I have tried adding salsa &/or salt to improve the taste but it's still not great.
I'll have to check out TJs... I normally cook from dried and save the leftovers in the freezer, but certain beans freeze better than others. Kidney beans hold up well to freezing, but white beans turn to mush IME. |
| Dried beans plus crock pot, no soaking needed, nice and cheap. |
| For TJ's, keep in mind that while the plain canned beans are in BPA-free cans, the more "prepared" stuff, including refried beans and chilis, may not be. I think TJs is trying to transition to having all of its canned goods BPA-free, but they aren't there yet. |
| I like boxed beans when i dont have time to cook dried: Whole Foods private label and Fig Foods. |
I wasn't aware that boxes were BPA free. They are certainly lined with something. Why don't they advertise bpa free? |
| My worry is that the BPA alternatives haven't been studied much, so they may b ebetter or worse than BPA |
