Private & Independent Schools
I want my son to have access to a second language in elementary school. Are there any good programs you can point me to?
By "bilingual option" do you mean immersion or simply instruction? WIS offers immersion in French, Spanish, and I believe Dutch (could be wrong about the last).
WIS is full immersion (Spanish or French, plus a small Dutch program) in preK and K, and bilingual thereafter. We have been there for several years and are extremely happy. In addition to excelling in native language studies and loving school, our child speaks the target language fluently and reads above grade level (using measurements for a native speaker) in the target language, so we consider our time there so far to have been a great success.

My daughter goes to the Maret School. It offers the children the choice between french, Spanish, Latin, and Chinese. Once your child reaches high school they can take the already listed languages as well as take additional ones and get credits. Students are also allowed to do a "double language" which means they take two languages and drop a humanities which they will make up the following year...
