I think I made a financial boo-boo with a HELOC

Ok, so we have a ton of equity in our home....we bought in the mid 90's. I started a project before I started the home equity loan process or actually at the same time. The project will be completed before the 30 days to close the HELOC. As stated earlier lots or equity and a really good, I think, credit score of 797. I do have the cash in savings to pay for the project, which will incur final payment before the closing process or I can use a credit card check for 0% and a max of $250 or $350 transaction fee, I can't remember exactly but roughly that. Should I take a huge hunk of my savings or pay for it with a credit card check with 1 year 0% interest. Which would most jeopardize my HELOC approval? Thank you.

Getting more debt would jeopardize the heloc more. If you have a ton of equity it shouldn't make any difference so long as your debt to value ratio is less than 85 percent (for your house).
