ob and delivery hospital rec - will be new to town at 20 weeks

I will be living in Arlington or Alexandria and moving to town at 20 weeks. Would love any recommendations for hospitals and practices! Do many people living in Arl or Alex go to the city to deliver, or do most stay in VA? Thanks in advance!

Many women on the board, myself included, have been very happy with Physicians & Midwives Collaborative Practice. They deliver at INOVA Alexandria, a hospital that also gets consistently good reviews.

if i were in VA, i would also love to be seen at physicians & midwives. it has a great reputation. i used to live near inova alexandria and it is a smaller hospital with a caring staff. i was never in L & D there though so I can't speak to that.

my friend lives in Del Ray in Alexandria though and she is delivering at Sibley which is probably the most popular choice in the DC area. It's in NW DC but is easily accessible from the Beltway (River Road exit).

If you end up moving to Arlington, I highly recommend Virginia Hospital Center. There are several practices there that are excellent. You can go to their website and look up the various OBs. I go to Elliott and Lashgari and really like them. It's nice because it's so close, and much better than driving all the way to Sibley to deliver (if you ask me). If you end up in Alexandria, I recommend INOVA Alexandria. They are excellent.
