What should I consider when choosing a soccer team?

Anonymous
My son is 10 years old. Two soccer teams (not rec level) have offered him a spot. TeamA is 5 minutes away from home, the coach is young and new into coaching, maybe a couple of years experience, DS doesn't know most of the kids.

TeamB is about 25 minutes away. The coach has more experience, seems really good. DS would have two good friends in this team, but there're 3 kids there with whom my DS doesn't get along well. They don't talk, don't social. One of the Mom is very exclusive.

I like the teamB coach, but worry about the social part. Should I let my DS goes to a team if there're some kids and DS don't like each other. Or should I let him go teamA since it's closer.

Any though?

Thanks

What does your kid want to do?

Me, I would go with closer.

OP here.
DS wants to go to teamB. But I can talk him out if I need to. My main concern is the 3 kids and DS don't get along. The 3 kids are good friends with each other, they would probably do things together. DS would have his two good friends there. I also don't get along with 2 Moms(among the 3 kids). They all come from the same school.
I worry about the social challenge of teamB. I do want him to be friends with his team mates. If he goes to the closer team, he would has more chance to make new friends.
TeamB's coaches are professional, more experienced.

Any thought(sorry, missing a 't' in my previous post)

If it is not Rec, the social aspect should matter less. One of the other things to consider is if it is a new coach, all might work fine, but if it does not go well, team can break up too leaving you to look for a new team. At that age, you should also consider where he is likely to play more -- playing as opposed to winning is most important at younger ages, well I would say at most ages if you are trying to develop.
