I've written before about my boss being either a narcissist or having early memory problems. I've also written that I am expecting and so don't think I can leave. The situation is getting worse, much worse. I am obviously pregnant and I work for a membership organization and boss announced my pregnancy on a membership call so basically all my contacts know. I've heard that employers are hesitant to hire expecting women or new moms. This will be my second and we will again get a nanny. With first, nanny was great and was a fabulous help in my reigniting my career and I even got promoted about 6 months after I came back. I think I can transition well into a new job soon after a short leave.
Anyway, I"m a VP so am wondering if I should search now, on the down-low to the extent that's possible, or just wait it out. I'm also looking for stories from the DC-based non-profit world. I am a little worried about my stress level and also my boss's decisions are making my job more difficult to perform and that is true for others in my organization. They are coming to me for moral support and I'm trying to manage my own morale. Thoughts? |
