| DD's friend loves a certain character, and I found a nightgown on amazon for $18. Weird for DD to give that as a present? What say DCUM? |
| My 4-year-old received a character swimsuit from a friend for her birthday. I thought it was a little weird, but my DD loved it. I would go for it. |
|
I might do a pool towel with the character instead.
|
| Girls at that age love nightgowns. |
| Larla will love it! She loves anything Strawberry Shortcake! We'll send a thank you note out promptly. |
| I think it's totally fine. |
+1 |
| Totally fine |
| Fine... |
| Weird. |
| Its fine but I don't really like character clothing so I'd prefer a book, toy or like suggested, a towel. |
I don't like character or licensed stuff either, but think a nightgown is perfect - they doing go out in public with it, and don't look at it much since it's on their body. Plus, a towel you'll keep for years. A nightgown will be grown out of. |
| Totally fine. |

At the risk of sounding bitchy, I say don't. My kids hate getting clothes for their birthdays. Yes, I agree they should be gracious about any gift they receive and say thank you (and send a note). I'm just telling you that the recipient will not be psyched, although hopefully she'll be polite.
That kind of gift is fine from grandma or an aunt but not a same age friend. |
| My daughter stopped wearing character themed clothes around 7 -- up till age 6 she would have been totally thrilled with a Hannah Montana or whatever PJ set but by age 7 wanted more grown up kid clothing. SO I say go for something else. |
