| Opportunity came up last week to travel to Bali for 2 weeks. I'm scrambling to get packed. I guess I know the basics, but if you want to offer up basic recommendations, I'd be happy to hear them. Really what I'm looking for are those things you often forget to pack for such a trip, only to arrive in country and say to yourself, how did I forget that. Also, for anyone who's actually travelled to Bali, if there is anything that you'd recommend I pack that doesn't quickly spring to mind, do let me know. Thanks! |

I've been to Bali, although not so recently! Have you checked out the Lonely Planet travel forums? They are generally pretty good for that part of the world.
Not sure that there's anything that you would pack for Bali that you wouldn't pack for, say, a Caribbean/Mexico trip (similar climate, at least). Prescription meds (and bring the script, especially if you are flying through Singapore, as they can be VERY touchy about pills without papers), whatever toiletries you might need, lightweight long pants or skirts, as shorts are not acceptable at some of the cultural/religious sites. Not sure what you'll need for electronics these days--as I said, it's been a while! |
| Penguinsix gave great advice. FWIW, there isn't much you can't get in Bali (except your prescription medication, official documents, etc.). I recommend packing minimal clothing and getting some of the nice, fun batiks they have there. You can buy right off the rack there. Have a great time! |
