"Wealth" can be subjective. A regular person would consider a neighborhood with million dollar houses a wealthy one (just checked Zillow and the houses in this neighborhood are worth $1-1.3M).

I agree about the subjective nature and a million dollars isn't what it used to be..... and... at the time of the murders BB was newish agent that wasn't making a huge salary. I'm sure CB was well compensated as a nurse. However, I believe they were at the upper limit of their budget in that home.

In my area many of the agents live in one community. The agents' homes don't tend to approach a million dollars.

Best,
Roy

Agree, except they had previously owned on Long Island, I believe. If so, that could have provided a significant down payment. But they were not wealthy people. I'm still curious about any life insurance policies on CB.

Re: an au pair, a more expensive form of childcare, I think CB was committed to the idea of it based on a very + experience with a prior AP, and as an RN and IRS LE they may have had schedules that did not match a daycare center that well.

An au pair is the cheapest Childcare option.

False. Daycare is much cheaper than getting an Au pair.

About 10 minutes because of the lights. But with BB’s driving habits (multiple speeding tickets), I wouldn’t be surprised if he got back within 5 minutes.

I’ve had Au pairs and most times, it does end up costing less than a nanny / daycare, but not always. (But the financial aspects are for a different thread).

The Au pair program is fundamentally different from a transactional nanny / daycare relationship. You are supposed to treat the Au pair like a daughter or a niece. You host them for holidays. You take them on vacation with you. You throw them a birthday party. They usually form a “big sister” bond with your kids.

That’s why it is so disturbing to me that BB had a sexual relationship with her. I know it happens, and I know they’re consenting adults, but it feels like incest! I feel very sad for the little girl. I guarantee you CB was framing the Au pair as a “big sister” to the little girl. How confusing when your big sister is also daddy’s girlfriend.

Not to mention moving into mommy and daddy's bedroom and taking mommy's place.

You are assuming that BB was actually AT the McD's when AP called.

BB could have gone to McD's to make sure he was on their video cam or he has a time-stamped receipt. Then BB could have been waiting around the corner of the house for AP's call. BB could have been there licketty-split since he wanted to "catch" JR with CB.

Assume nothing about BB's story until each piece is proven.

Makes sense. May have paid for food and been waiting in the car even closer.

Joe was fully dressed, he had not been there long.

He had no motive to kill anyone.

Does AP think she is going to beat the charges and he's going to marry her and she will stay in US? Seems quite unlikely when her own words are sufficient to convict her of the charges against her. If he married her in jail would she still be deported? I just can't get into her head about any of it.

Wonder if she has daddy issues, she's not really seeing her own interests clearly in any of this.

For practical reasons, BB, trained LE, had his loaded weapon in hand and could have fired again if need be. I think he did not want to fire the definitive kill shot so that if need be AP would take the fall for the more easily proved homicide, not him. Shooting someone on the ground who has been shot in the head when there was an ability to retreat (proved by going into another room) is going to be hard for her to skate on. BB really set up 3 people. And, he did not marry her during the time they were playing house before her arrest.

BB was rendering aid to CB while the AP was covering Joe.

I have a friend in their neighborhood. From the McDonalds to her house is 7 minutes per Google maps.

Why would BB marry AP? She was a means to an end. He concocted the perfect crime. He manipulated Joe, CB, and AP to be set for life.

Rendering aid while covering Joe? Ok…Brendan the LE didn’t just shoot Joe again? Instead Brendan told Juliana to go get a different gun, in a different room, in a locked safe and then come back and shoot Joe who was on the ground. Make that make sense.

It came out in court that he/someone had JR BRING a knife from home. My initial thought, since there was so much prior back and forth about a knife (despite JR never having done knife play) and he sent a (likely requested) photo of one, was that BB had an identical one. That way there would be one with JR's fingerprints, KEY, and the murder weapon. But EMT testified did not see a knife. So, not sure what the story will be there.

I mean you can't. Not only could he have fired again but he could have handed his service weapon to AP to "cover" JR. He clearly did not want to do that. The leaving room and returning really undercuts JR being an ongoing threat. Very unlikely she won't be convicted. That and bringing the child into the situation really stand out. Also, the idea she'd be fiddling with a lock on a gun case, I don't believe it was digital, is ludicrous. She's not trained LE, the adrenaline rush would be intense, your hands would be shaking, and she'd be futzing with a spin lock? And NO ONE calling 911 with a quickness while CB was bleeding out? That is the 3rd WTF piece of evidence that will be very challenging to try to explain away to a jury.

Arresting BB and making it stick is a whole different story without her testimony to tie him to knife/stabbing and plot. He's not been charged for shooting JR given the circumstances. In these set up type cases can anyone think of one where 3rd party testimony isn't eventually key to convict? They were there (like this) or told before or after like Winger? All of the details are BS but they don't put a knife in BB's hand beyond a reasonable doubt without testimony.

He doesn't seem like the type to be a monk for extended periods. Maybe pillow talk will sink him eventually. Time will tell.

Agree with the first part but not so much the second. Did he get a big insurance payout? I don't really see him as set for life or all that employable.

BB did leave the scene of the crime to go to hospital for a supposed injury. Maybe that knife went with him…

Thanks. He could have been in his car driving already, making it even shorter.

JR was not there long and was fully dressed. He had no motive to walk in for sex and immediately commit a murder, makes no sense at all.

If BB loses his license that may put him under a bit more pressure. Does VA still do weekend jail for reckless driving?
