Freestanding tubs or soaker tubs

We are considering between freestanding tub or a soaker tub (built into a platform)? I have been told the freestanding tubs - while beautiful end up becoming very impractical.

Thoughts?

Freestanding are so much prettier.

they are no doubt, but they also typically cost 2 or 3 x as much as a drop-in soaker - just depends on budget and this is your "forever" house.

I like the free standing ones. But they are expensive if you go with a non-acrylic one.

I love the look of a free standing tub, but I use the jetted tub all the time. It is super relaxing and I don't think I could live without one again.

Agree. I don't care if some random Internet person thinks it looks outdated -- we designed our house to live in, not to impress people with its trendiness.

Definitly NOT outdated! Beautiful but just too costly compared to drop-ins.
