Just got a letter that DC qualifies for LL II services and that I need to sign and return a form; however, I believe DC should be in AAP, and if not, then LL III services, not LL II. Should I sign the letter or ignore it, as I am concerned it may impact our LL III request, if needed, depending on the AAP appeal. Thanks!
Unless your dc gets in to AAp on appeal, he/she will get the services that the school designates. If you don't sign, your child will get no services (unless accepted to level 4 on appeal).
OP - in the same boat. (ignoring the fact that the form I have to sign is for the wrong school.) We are going to sign up for LLII. if not accepted on appeal to Level IV we are going to have our son retested over the summer and also have him take the Cogat in fall. And apply next year (4th grade).
R u sure? If I don't sign then no services? The thing is...Dr. had advised that if DC is not accepted into the center that I should request LL 3. Does signing yes to the LL 2 impact this? |
Best thing you can do is pick up the phone and discuss this with the AART.
What is LLII in 3rd grade and up?
Just differentiated instruction; whereas LLIII is part time AAP.
I wrote on the form that we have an appeal in for ft level 4 and if not found in our favor will be requesting level 3 - that way they know that we want more than level 2.
