Looking for a new pediatrician

Anonymous
We had a really bad experience with our Ped located in Reston. Can you recommend a new pediatrician in Herndon/Reston/Vienna? My DD is 7 years old. One who can work well with kids with ASD? Thanks~

We are in the same boat and would like to hear suggestions.
We are with Virginia Pediatrics Group, some of the peds are Ok, some not so good, and there are few excellent peds but it is very difficult to get their appointments.
And because you get to visit multiple peds over time, no single ped has a good picture of what's happening with your child.

What about Hope Scott at Reston Town Center Pediatrics? I have not used her but heard about her since she is a developmental pediatrician. We moved to Herndon 4 years ago, and have not found a ped we like. We tried Capital Pediatrics and hated it, then we tried Farrell Pediatrics, and didn't like them either. We continue to drive to where we used to live and go to No VA Pediatrics.

Any suggestions? I was with Reston Town center pediatrics not happy at all, overcrowded and they just treat symptoms.
Then moved to Farrell, but they are not too great either. They missed his growth decline, and medications given are not consistent, and I am getting no support from them to cope up with my son's celiac.
I am thinking of switching to capital area pediatrics, can you tell me what is not good about them?

I went to capital area pediatrics several times - the location in Herndon. Where do I start? First, they do not assign you to a regular dr as they do at my current practice at No VA Pediatrics. You get shuffled around to whoever is available. When I went for a well visit, I didn't even get to see a dr, I got a nurse practitioner who lectured me for 15 minutes about healthy food choices for my 12 month old after they forgot about me, and I waited for them for over an hour. I took my dd once for an ear infection, and she had impacted ear wax they wanted to remove first. They did a bad job, and she ended up screaming in pain and bleeding. After that, I have just given up trying Reston pediatricians. If I try again, I thought about Ashburn. My co-workers all say that ashburn pediatrics is a good practice. Might be worth the drive.

We love Capital Area Peds in Vienna. They have great hours and we always see our regular pediatrician (there have been a few sick visits late at night when we have to see another ped but usually we see our own). We like all of the Peds in the practice though so it isn't a problem for us. Our favorites are Drs. Fox, Morris, and Wahba.

What about Capital Area Peds in Herndon? Can anyone comment about them?

Very happy with Sleepy Hollow Capital Pediatrics. They do not assign you to ONE dr. but you can ask for that dr. For well visits I always ask for the same Dr. It is not perfect, but it is very good!
