| I would like to get a pair of authentic cowboy boots for the fall. What brand would you recommend? I don't want to spend more than 400.00 Thanks! |
| to wear around DC? just say no. |
Darling, the "D" in DCUM stands for District, not Dallas. We don't do cowboy boots here. Except for when a Texan is inaugurated as president. |
|
Oh, jeez PPs! Can't you live and let live??
OP: Old Gringo makes beautiful boots. I found some pairs under $400 on Zappos. http://www.zappos.com/old-gringo-womens-boots~h |

I wear mine a lot. They are adorable with sundresses! But I'm originally from the Deep South.
I got my last couple of pairs here- http://www.rccwesternstores.com/ |

| I don't think I could pull them off, but I do like cowboy boots. Those gringo ones are pretty nice! |
|
LOL at these responses!
The most fashionable woman I know wears cowboy boots with sundresses and she totally pulls it off. I think having confidence to wear them is half the battle. |

people pay $495 for....these?

| Currently in Jackson Hole. Family members bought Lucchese boots. Gorgeous! 300 and change per pair so they are not cheap but still fits your budget. Worth checking out. |
|
Check out Sheplers.com for a wide selection across price points. As far as brand, what style of boot are you looking for? Agree with pp I really like the Lucchese boots, but to me they are more ornate. My boots are a little plainer/more functional looking. How are you planning to wear them? With jeans? A skirt?
I would recommend checking out several different brands to get a feel for your boot style and then choose the brand accordingly. |
| I adore Lucchese boots. |
+1 |
| Ignore the naysayers, cowboy boots are awesome if you can rock them with confidence. I got a pair secondhand in Texas hill country, and I wear them all the time in DC. Lucchese is a good brand. |
Really? I don't know anyone who can pull that look off. They think they do, but they fail. |
