Looking for a solid rec for anyone working in MD or VA, ideally they would be licensed in both states. I'm very detail oriented and highly motivated when it comes to my job so I would expect the same from my realtor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We had a great experience with our Realtor, and like you we were looking in MD,VA, and DC. She was able to suggest properties that my husband and I hadn't considered, and ultimately we ended up purchasing one of them. I'd be happy to provide more info by email if you would like.

We had good a experience with The Estridge Group, specifically Scott Sachs but everyone there, including the owner Melinda and the closing manager.

We didn't end up looking at any VA properties, but Scott was familiar with both.

We used Phil Gvinter at Redfin. Plenty of people will disparage using Redfin, but Phil really knows this market and works extremely hard to help his clients find the right home. And you get a rebate on the commission. I don't know if he is licensed to work in VA, but I'm sure there are some great Redfin agents there as well.

Worked with Sue Goodheart in old town alexandria (The Goodheart Group). Great experience, friends have subsequently used her and also referred her.

I'm going to hazard a guess that pp is Jessica since no one but real estate agents 1) use the word realtor or 2) capitalize it.

Realtors and real estate agents are different. Realtors have more stringent requirements.

I'd highly recommend Frank Llosa of Frankly Realty. He's efficient, no frills and will find what you want. Also, he's very savvy when it come to negotiating the contract.

Perhaps he's gotten better with age, but several years ago, in a Burt's market, he blew a sale for us.

Should read buyer's not Burt.

We used him in 2004 and he really came through for us. He was able to get us in the house we are in now, without much of an escalation. house was listed for $720k, we got it for $750k. This was when the market was crazy with multiple escalation clauses.
