Palisades Recreation Center: Gym?

Has anyone used the gym facilities at the Palisades Rec Center and can describe the quality of the space? I did not even know that an actual building existed. I've only ever seen the playing fields and the playgrounds. They do not seem to have an individual website although the DPR website does list a fitness center as one of the amenities.

I discovered the Girard Rec Center today. It was a nice, modern building. If we lived in Columbia Heights, I would just join the gym there- $125 a year for a small, but well appointed gym.
