Stroller friendly 5k?

Anonymous
Does anyone know of any happening this summer? Trying to get back in shape after the baby and would be good to have a race to prepare for, would love it if I could find one that was stroller-friendly...

Most 5Ks go on hiatus over the summer, but definitely pick up in the Fall.
Try the Tim Harmon 5K in Fairfax (not sure where you are coming from), but I'll be your competitor (I've won it in previous years for the stroller category ). See you out there!

Totally disagree with PP. You can find 5Ks all summer long - it's the longer distances that are really only during spring and fall.

Where are you? Many of the Pacers-sponsored races are stroller friendly, including the 4th of July race in Fairfax.

www.runwashington.com is probably the most comprehensive list of races in the area. If you find one on a date/location that works for you, check their website and email the race director. Most have responded very quickly when I ask the question.

Or, this mom is putting together a stroller-friendly race calendar on her blog: http://laracoffee.com/jog-stroller-friendly-race-calendar/

Thank you for posting the stroller friendly race calendar. There are more than a 1000 races at the moment that we have identified as stroller friendly races in the US. In the DC Metropolitan area (DC, MD and VA), we have 189 races identified. They are all distances. We are adding about 20-30 races daily. To remember the link to the calendar remember Run Stroller Run (http://www.runstrollerrun.com). Right now it will bring you directly to calendar. In a couple of months it will have its own dedicated site.

Good luck. Also, if anyone has races that are note listed, please let me know. The way we identify races is we contact each and every race director and wait for their responses. You will notice in most race descriptions, we put what the race directors sends back to us.
