Just curious.

Full day day camp all summer $5300
|
|
$300/week (school camp) x 11 weeks=$3300
And, yes, same for the second child. |
|
For full day, that is probably the least expensive ($300)??
|
|
$2,460 for 8 weeks of 9 a.m-3 p.m. for my youngest.
$1850 for 7 weeks of 9 a.m-3 p.m. for my oldest. Both in Bethesda/Chevy Chase. And yes, that is more than I will take home in pay this summer. |
| Ouch, that is expensive! |
| Some of the full day rec camps are as low as about $150 per week. I've seen costs up to $600 per week for full day camps though. We try to average about $300 per week. |

Arcadia Farm Camp is $300 a week.

| i don't want to think about it so i have not added it up... |
| 10:34 here....my full day is 7:30-6. |

$2,850 for 9 weeks.
It's our first summer of camp rather than day care. The first four weeks include three days each week of aftercare and made it hugely expensive (to me). The second four weeks I paid extra for bus transportation, and that stretches the day enough that my husband and I can cobble together drop off and pickup without using aftercare. Then one week of half day camp where I will use leave to pick him up at lunch. Depending on how my kid does this summer, we will try Rec Department camps next year, which are a bit cheaper. |
| $540 for 9 weeks at DC DPR camp (Friendship/Turtle Park in the AU Park neighborhood). Includes aftercare. Online signup back in February was nerve-wracking given that it's one of the high demand camps but luckily we got in. Our 5 year old daughter enjoyed last summer as a 4 year old and is back for another year. Next year we plan on taking advantage of a free summer camp offered by our daughter's charter school -- didn't know it was an option until we had already paid and committed with other parents to send our kids to DPR camp together again. |
x2. I hate it. |
|
$600 for french camp x 2 weeks
$600 for spanish camp x 4 weeks (two different companies) Full days 9 - 3 Still planning on swim camp in August. Don't know the cost. But, I figured I've got it mostly figured out. DD will need some down time lazy days, not many but some and our family vaycays aren't planned yet. We'll prob. just do some staycays, which includes a beach week just before school resumes. |
| We are using private school summer camps instead of our old daycare this year and it is a major budget hit for us. A little over $400 a week with aftercare X 2 kids. And we are only signed up for 8 weeks so far, have one vacation week, and then I do not know what we will do for the last couple weeks before preschool & elementary are full time again. Probably hire a sitter or use backup daycare through my work. Next year we will probably do something different - hire a summer nanny and fewer weeks at camp. Would kill for a good old fashioned "summer at Grandpa's farm" option. Oh well. |
