Anyone work there & can speak to specifics about Health Insurance benefits (are they good? Do part timers get benefits and are they prorated) and daily commute from Rockville--how long? congested? best routes? & generally how you like working there....
thank you! |

As a whole, the culture at CNMC is fabulous. Everyone is extraordinarily friendly and people really do put the patients first. The health benefits are great especially if you have kids.
Now for the bad- the maternity policy is awful. If you are not a LIP with direct patient care, forget about parking on site during the day. CNMC busses in their employees from offsite lots throughout the region. Everyone who works there loves Children's. |

Worked here for 10y and love it. Longest I've worked anywhere and I can't imagine leaving anytime soon. Like PP said, parking is the biggest issue. I've been here so long that I was grandfathered in to parking onsite, but ppl hired after 2005ish have to park offsite and shuttle in which can add to your commute.
I don't know about routes, but I have several co-workers who live in Rockville, and I think it takes them 45-60m. I have my benefits through the hospital and haven't had any issues (aside from the fact they cover no fertility benefits.) |

I believe you get health benefits as long as you are atleast 20 hours/week employee. You have a choice between HMO, PPO, and High deductible plan for medical.
I'm still new but so far so good. I think to myself this is one of the few jobs I'm willing to give blood (literally), money (employee giving campaign to support families), and sweat (in the form of going over and beyond). Good luck with your decision. |
