Anyone know anything about these camps?
TIA |
wyonegnic is located on moose pond in denmark maine, oldest girls camp in the us. Kiniya is/was in vermont |
I was a camper at Wyonegonic and send my daughter to Kiniya. Both are excellent camps. I chose to send my daughter to Kiniya because of the staff and amazing Director. Kiniya also has an excellent riding program which is included at no additional cost. The leadership program is unsurpassed. Kiniya is the sister camp to Camp Dudley, (oldest boys camp in America). It has a beautiful location on Lake Champlain, but as a new aquisition, the facilities are not yet comparable to Dudley or Wyonegonic. Although the infrastructure is improving each year, it is the quality of counselors and talented campers that more than make up for the camp's older buildings. If you want a summer camp with substance over style, Kiniya is the right camp for your daughter.

I found the overnight camp my oldest son goes to thru a free advisory service to parents called Tips on Trips and Camps. I was so impressed with it that I now work for them as a camp advisor. It's a company that's been in business for 38 years advising parents on the overnight camps and teen programs around the country and abroad. We do represent both of these camps and can give you info on them (parent insights etc.). We help kids 8-18 years old. You tell an advisor what your child's interests and specifications are (location, length of stay, size, co-ed or single sex, specialty sports or just fun all around camp etc.) and we can send suggestions, brochures/dvds etc. of various camps that fit what you're looking for. We get a small referal fee from the camp you decide to attend. We represent over 500 programs. It is such a smart way to find the best program for your child. If you want to contact me about it please feel free at meg@tipsontripsandcamps.com |
