Camp Schmidt

My child participated in an orienteering event there this weekend, and wow! It's a really neat place. I hadn't ever seen it before, though he went on the 5th grade trip there.

Just wanted to throw out there that we're lucky to have this resource. It's really cool.

I'm 33 now, and in 6th grade I met a guy there that I have a crush on to this day (he lives a few blocks from me now). Sigh. I realize I sound creepy, but I just have great memories of it.

+1. Did two "tours" of Camp Schmidt in 5th and 6th grade in the 80s. Yes, I'm old, but the memories are oh so awesome. So glad this place is still around!!!!

You think you're old?!? I did Camp Schmidt in the 70s (77? 76?). I had an awful time, but in fairness it was raining for much of our stay. Even without the rain I wouldn't have described my experience with anything approaching a superlative. Sounds like the program has improved, and that's really good to hear.
