McCain and "Country First"

Anonymous
HOW did the Republicans become "owners" of Country First? Isn't is a bit ironic considering the mess they've made with the war? the amount of money used to fund a war that could be used to help our very own?

thoughts?

I guess it means when it's time to go down the tube, it's "Country First," me second!

It is weird. Obama is really pushing to help the middle class, and Republicans want to give tax breaks to the rich, thinking there would be a trick down effect. yeah, right! How is that country first? Anyone with half a brain knows that the middle class makes up most of the US and that the rich, even though they control much of the US, are few. With that in mind, Obama is clearly COUNTRY FIRST!

McCain? Oh - sad to say he's one foot in the grave. So instead of looking out the for the US, he's looking into buying himself a fancy coffin!

PP here - I meant trickle down effect instead of "thinking there would be a trick down effect."

Well, on election day it will be "Country First, McCain Second".

Why is it that I see more McCain signs in front of tiny little houses and more Obama signs in front of huge mansions? Just curious.

It might be because the McMansion owners are starting to have trouble making their payments and are looking to Obama for more government programs to help bail them out.
The people in smaller houses probably have saved money their whole lives by not buying into crass materialism and don't want the nest eggs they have saved to pass on their children to be taxed into oblivion (wich is what will happen when the death tax is repealed.)
I'm just saying...

Plenty of tiny little sensible houses out in my neck of the woods have Obama signs outside of them. Jes' sayin'.

If that's the case, those home owners are idiots. McCain, after all, has a plan for the government to buy bad mortgages and is promising tax cuts for the rich.

Because people who live in McMansions can afford to have "Democratic guilt" for all of the wealth that they have either earned or inherited. It's the people like me who live in MIDDLE SIZE houses (too rich to benefit from Obama's plan, too poor to get any goodies from McCain) that get screwed either way.

Back to the original thought, I went canvassing yesterday for Obama, and what is strange is the use of the flag by Republicans versus Democrats. The minute I saw a flag in the window I sort of knew, "This guy's gotta be a Republican".

Anyway, if Obama wins on Tuesday, I am hanging flags all over the place. I'm taking back the flag.

Good for you! I hope everyone is flying a flag. It's time we all realized how great this country is. All over the world, they are apparently amazed that an African-American could be elected president. Whether Obama wins or loses, we should be very proud of ourselves.
