It’s not just her name, Hilaria Baldwin’s entire life is a fake

This is mean. I think she's ridiculous with her yoga posing all over the place, but this is mean.

Oh well. This is culture these days. Tear someone to shreds for entertainment and then move on to the next victim.

I gotta respond to this. Pointing out an ongoing lie/scam isn't tearing anyone down. Hilaria should thank everyone involved in the early part of this thread for making her a household name. She didn't even have a million followers. My niece had more followers than her on Tiktok and I guarantee you don't know her name.

I've been laughing along at her fake persona since before this thread was created. This is funny as an internet thing, as it has been for years in various comment sections and on message boards. Front page of NY Post? That's a step too far for me, piling on public humiliation.

And Insta and TikTok are different ballgames.

Sorry, these lines from the Post piece are *chef's kiss*

"As was her alleged other grift, using that great line — one reportedly deployed by Yoko Ono, Heather Mills and Meghan Markle when they each met their world-famous husbands — asking Alec, “So what do you do?”

Ha! Well, if Alec believed that one, no wonder he believed one former Hillary Hayward-Thomas, privileged white New England-born-and-bred daughter of a Harvard med school professor and a Georgetown educated lawyer father, was really an exotic Spaniard without a television or a basic command of English or a sustained accent. Nope, Hilaria was just a yoga-loving fawn in the New York City jungle who was definitely, totally not interested in social climbing or landing a rich, famous, older husband."

So. Good.

I guess I just don't think this is story worthy, and is mean spirited and petty like the old friend who exposed Meghan Markle for having visited Buckingham Palace and the other stories about her being romantically ambitious.

Social climbing women who had their sights set on famous and wealthy men pretended not to know who they were to have an edge with them. Oh no. Next you'll tell me Alec and Harry were mainly interested in their future wives for their looks and not their brains.

It affects people by making them want to talk about it. People tend to dislike being misled, and anyone who believed HB’s shtick about being partly Spanish was deliberately misled. Now we want to talk about it. Pretty simple.

It doesn't.

Hilaria's fakery is ridiculous and laughable, but the internet's need to turn this into some sort of social justice violation is eyeroll worthy. She's a white woman who pretended to be a white woman with a more exotic background.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s not like a white woman pretending to be Black or Latina like Rachel Dolezal and Jessica Krug. And she’s not in any position of authority. Other than looking foolish what harm has she done?

This controversy is the best thing that ever happened to Hillary. Spare me.

Neither Megan nor Heeelarrriaaa are quality lookers and their brains are equally questionable. Harry is simple and impressionable and Alec is old, so maybe it’s the best they could do.

If Hilary can claim credit for her parent's retirement home, I think it's safe to say yes.

I am sorry this woman feels personally hurt by it. I simply do not feel this way, even as the daughter of an actual Central American immigrant with a very real, very heavy accent for whom being an immigrant has meant a lower "status" job in the US than she had in her home country (and at one point she was doing dangerous manual labor because that was all she could get).

The professors and activists who've faked their race and/or ethnicity to get ahead I've found repugnant. People who take positions of status, things that actually have an impact. But I simply don't get upset about every random asshole with personality problems, and the social media "influencer" wife of a rageaholic 80's celeb definitely counts as a random person.
