| We are house hunting and are looking at University Park. Our DC will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. Can anyone who has experience with the school care to fill me in? How are the academics? School environment (both students and parents) TIA! |

| My DD is just finishing 2nd grade at UPES and my son was there for K-3. Supportive, enthusiastic principal, very strong PTA, and extremely caring (although overworked) staff of awesome and truly remarkable teachers. Sometimes you really have to shake your head at what the county puts their schools through - UPES was supposed to have their open classrooms enclosed this year and it never happened - now scheduled for this summer so we shall see. The temporary rooms sat outside unused for a year. They have open houses and tours although the last open house was a couple of weeks ago.
