Can't stand looking bushy and wavy. Tips, products, etc. needed. Please don't tell me to embrace my waves. I look horrible with frizz. |
I am the same OP. I get keratin treatments in summer (and skip them in winter) |
I use a few drops of Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum after shampooing. Apply it to wet hair, brush/comb through and blow dry. Always works great for me.
It's oily so use sparingly. |
In my mind, frizz is different from waves. This morning I used an anti-frizz serum as well and blow dried it. I did it just enough to get rid of the frizz, but keep the soft curl. Only my hairdresser can get it straight as a board. And I pay dearly for that. |
OP here. I have both waves and frizz. It looks like hell. |
Same here - Keratin saves my summers. |
I got a shosrt pixie. Perfect for my curly/frizzy hair and I love it! Takes 10 years off my face. BUt you have to make sure you don't get an old lady cut. Go to a more trendy salon and/or take a photo of the style you want. |
Agree with keratin. |
Keratin treatments are highly carcinogenic, both to customers and the stylists who perform them. OSHA has a lot of information on this, including documented evidence of the producers of these products falsely advertising that they are formeldahyde free. They aren't. If you want to get it done, your stylist must be in a separate room, wearing a respirator, with ventilation that is separate from the rest of the facility. Most don't, and they are not in compliance with FDA and OSHA safety standards. |
I like the Living Proof anti frizz products. |
Keratin. |
i have similar hair and am thinking of trying a keratin (the temp one) for the summer. i asked the woman who does my hair about it and she said she would charge $300. said it washes out over 2-3 months so there is no growth line in the hair. is this about how much salons charge?
she claims the washout one does not damage hair? |
I get something called an express keratin at Noufal Hair Salon in Tysons. Costs around $300. LOVE it, but don't do it during the summer since it would be a total PITA (can't go in a chlorine pool). |
Every single woman I see with a keratin treatment has flat looking hair with odd bumps. It just doesn't look natural to me. |
I would try to find an up-do that works for you. I wear a bun constantly. A friend of mine just works the messy braid (and looks great!).
I use kerastase products. For your hair I would try the oleo-relax. |
