AAP "toolbox"--do I need the regular 3rd grade toolbox too?

Anonymous
Ordering the toolboxes for my kids for next year. DS is a rising 3rd grader, got into AAP. Does he need 2 toolboxes--the AAP and the reg. 3rd grade, or just the AAP??

Are you referring to school supplies?

Yes, thanks.

You might want to email your school and get a direct answer from them.

I would just buy the AAP one.

Why would you need 2 sets of school supplies?

Buy the AAP school supply kit. If he is in an AAP center, his main classes will be AAP and that's the supply list you want.
If you mean something else besides school supply kits, I'm not sure what you're referring to....

To 13:27, when DS was in JIP, he was required to have two sets of school supplies: one "regular" second grade set, and one for JIP. Wanted to know if the same was true for AAP.

Yes, I meant the supply kits.

sorry if I was wasting anyone's time with, you know, a legitimate question that I thought another FCPS AAP parent might know the answer to. Sheesh.

I always found it amusing that, in 4th grade, my son's AAP toolbox included 2 boxes of tissues, but the gen ed toolbox included 3.

Just out of curiosity, which schools are referring to school supplies using the term "toolbox"? I think it's cute, but I've never heard it before since my children's school is not using the term.

I think it's an FCPS thing--they contracted with schooltoolbox.com to do one-stop shopping for school supplies. The teachers make their lists, and parents just have to get "one" box, at grade level, that has all the supplies in it. It's delivered to the school, and is in the kid's classroom, on the first day of school. No more rushing to Target or CVS the first night of school....
