Fun/casual burger joint or similar in NW DC or MoCo?

Looking for a fun place to take a large-ish group (8 or 9) with casual but good food and cozy atmosphere. We'd like table service so I think a place like BGR is out (haven't been there but isn't it counter service)?

Thinking along the lines of Matchbox or Clydes but smaller/more pub-like? Any ideas?

It's not specifically a burger place, but has decent burgers: Rock Bottom Pub http://www.rockbottom.com/

Parker's is awful.

How about Cafe Deluxe in Cleveland Park or Bethesda or Clyde's in Friendship Heights? Also, American Tap Room in Bethesda has awesome burgers.

I have to agree with PP about Parkers.

Also, I went with a group to Matchbox. With the booth seating, it was great. I think they must sound proof those things b/c leaving the restaurant it was so loud, but we didn't have a problem holding conversations.

Parker's is awful, but so is Cafe deluxe and American tap room.

Gotta agree on Cafe Deluxe. No idea how their burgers are, but their atmosphere is clinical. Nothing warm about it.

Not really a pub, but I love Krazee burger in Bethesda.

When in West Palm, FL...Please try my brother's upscale burger place. It is called "Relish," and was voted "top 10 meals" in USA Today magazine for 2012. OK, that was my plug. Thank you! =)

I saw a roach two weeks ago in Thunder Burger & Bar on M Street. Ickeeeee
I would go to Medium Rare for steak frites or Good Stuff near Barracks Row for a burger & fries.
