Decorating a small living room on a budget

I'm looking For ideas to complete my small living room in my first apartment, it's a small apartment that was renovated from a one car Garage. Since this is my first place I'm looking for ideas for decorating I can use to make it cute but still affordable since I don't want to spend a whole bunch of money on furniture yet. The Living room space is very small and I think it only it either very small couch or love seat and one single chair and maybe a ottoman. My goal is for to be very comfortable to sit on but not ugly. I don't want it to look very Mitchie Matchey so that's why I'm coming over here to look for ideas and suggestions. i love the look of dark leather ( could be fake) paired with very cute artsy pillows.do anyone have any ideas

If you can find a copy, the 2012 Ikea catalog as devoted to decorating small places and Ikea is one of the best places for low-cost furnishings. The 2013 catalog has a number of rooms, but isn't quite as focused on "living small" as the 2012 catalog was.

look at the web site of apartment therapy. there is a section going on now about small places, usually sources of furniture are identified

Ikea used to make a small couch--it was like a regular size couch but scaled down in length and width proportionally--not a love seat. It was only like 400 and was really nice and comfy. I'm not sure they make it anymore. We bought one for my mom's studio apt in 2008. It was only good for about 5 yrs but was great for the purpose.
