alerting to old posts

Jeff, wondering if there's a way to automatically add text or a red line or something that informs people they are responding to an old post? It's so annoying when they pop up and I think most people don't really intend to respond to them but they don't check the date it was started. Any plans to make it a little more obvious if a post is over x months old?

We already lock threads that have not had a response in two years and have a date column showing when the thread was started. Beyond that, I think we would get into a situation in which too much computing power is being devoted to preventing a problem that is not all that big of an issue.
