Transition from MS to HS: FTM what to expect?

| DD is graduating from 8th in a couple of weeks. How is it different than MS? It seems very different, but just wondering... TIA. |

I haven't found it to be very different. I like the block scheduling better. In 9th grade DC did not have as much homework as DC in 7th grade. However, it switched this year. This year in 10th grade Algebra II Honor and AP World History added much more homework. Chemistry was more because biology was basically a repeat of 7th grade with additional stuff. Spanish III was much harder too.

| More of the kids dealing directly with their teachers. You may already be doing that in Middle School but I noticed it with the shift from middle school to high school - that I didn't know the teachers as well. And that's as it should be. The kids need to be responsible for their own work but it still felt a little odd and I had to get used to it. |
